Smile of the Mirage
In a standing bar, I sway unsteadily, The corner of the counter greets me with a tender pain. My vision blurs, the edges dissolve, It feels like a dream, a mirage floating on a desert sea.
Your smile dances in the midst of the mirage, Reaching out, I touch the fleeting illusion. As the glass at my feet sparkles and glimmers, I drift further away from the grasp of reality.
The moments I loved are like bitter liquor, Each sip tightening the ache in my chest. But in this instant, your shadow appears, Even if it’s a mirage, I’d still chase it, endlessly.
In this standing bar, the night still young, My shadow wavers in the haze of intoxication. The corner of the counter cradles my forehead, Offering a fleeting warmth like an embrace.
My vision distorts, light begins to melt, A mirage floating, lost in a sea of sand. Reality and dreams intertwine with each breath, The only certainty is this swaying rhythm of life.
Your voice whispers from a distant plane, Is it the sound of wind, or a memory’s echo? In this fragile bubble where everything crumbles, My heart continues to wander, endlessly lost.
The glass in my hand feels cold to the touch, Its chill pulls me back into the weight of reality. Yet, your smile emerges amidst the mirage, And my heart won’t stop seeking it.
Time halts as I stand, my senses adrift, Beyond my closed eyes lies a shimmering mirage. If you are there, that is all I need, Even if it’s just a shadow, I long to drown in it.
