After leaving Dr. Amelia’s house, Ryu and Lyra headed toward the forest, this time fully aware of the lurking dangers. Ryu clutched the glowing letter tightly in his hand as his mind raced, searching for a way to prevent the destruction he had experienced before.
Suddenly, a distant rumble echoed through the air. Ryu remembered the future event—the massive beast that attacked Lyra. This time, he wouldn’t let it happen. He closed his eyes, took a deep breath, and focused on the power he now fully understood: Rewrite Existence, magic capable of altering fundamental concepts of the universe.
“I won’t let you hurt anyone,” he whispered, raising his hand to the sky. Magic energy began to gather, creating waves that rippled through reality.
“<Rewrite Existence: Remove Ferocity>”
With that spell, the universal concept of ferocity in animals was erased from existence. The massive beast that was about to attack them suddenly stopped in its tracks, its glowing red eyes losing their hateful intensity. It turned and calmly walked back into the forest as if it had never intended to harm them.
Lyra, who had witnessed this, stood frozen, her eyes wide with shock. “Ryu... what did you just do?”
Ryu gave her a faint smile. “I erased the possibility of creatures like that being a threat. There will be no more ferocious animals in this world.”
Before Lyra could question him further, a bright light appeared in the sky. It was the massive laser that had destroyed the city before. This time, Ryu was ready.
“I won’t let the city fall again,” he declared with determination. He stood firm, raising both hands toward the sky. A tremendous energy began to swirl around him, forming a barrier that slowly enveloped the city.
“<Rewrite Existence: Eternal Barrier>”
The spell created a massive shield that protected the entire city from the laser’s assault. When the laser struck the barrier, nothing happened. The shield remained intact, not even a scratch marring its surface.
The city’s inhabitants, who had been bracing for destruction, erupted into cheers of gratitude. Ryu stood among them, his breathing heavy, but his eyes glowed with unwavering resolve.
“This time, I will protect everyone,” he murmured. “No more destruction, no more loss.”
However, in the distance, a shadowy figure watched from the depths of the forest. They had taken notice of Ryu’s power and were already crafting a plan to counter him. A greater battle was looming on the horizon.
