There once lived a divine wolf and beautiful Sheep - Fenrir and the Golden Fleece. They lived together in a small forest, away from Man and his child. No matter what the Fleece grazed, wherever the Fleece hiked, the wolf was always with the sheep.
One day, the Fleece mindlessly grazed away from the sleeping Fenrir and was found by a shepherd boy. The boy couldn’t let a lamb with such beautiful wool remain wild and ordered his Shepherd hound to bring the golden Fleece into his flock. Fenrir woke up to his friend's disappearance and found only its fur caught on the bushes leading out of their home.
At the shepherd boy’s farm, the Golden Fleece bleated for its friend’s help while the boy’s father had beaten him for having stolen the Golden Fleece, the mighty Fenrir’s beloved friend. Even so, the boy refused to give up the beautiful creature and persuaded His father to keep the lamb and the farmer’s wife just so happened to want a golden shawl. Finally, the enraged Fenrir found its way to the village that the family lived in and threatened to slaughter all the livestock until His friend was returned. The boy brought his best sheep to Fenrir and asked if these simple lambs would be a fine replacement and Fenrir mauled the poor sheep in his rage. The boy took the sheeps’ corpse and showed it to the golden Fleece to prove how dangerous Fenrir truly was.
The boy brought the golden Fleece to Fenrir, who believed that he was reuniting with his dear friend but the golden Fleece cursed him for his cruel ways and shamed Fenrir. Fenrir, his heartbroken, was chased away with the cruellest words and the Boy had sported a smile no child should wear.
The Golden Fleece, who believed it was saved from a terrible monster, gave its wool to the boy, until its dying breath. Never the wiser that its true friend howls to the moon, its last companion in this world.
