13. The Magical Spirits
"Congratulations, new students, on your enrollment. My name is Isabelle Valenti. I specialize in spirit magic here at Luminous College."
Standing in the center of the lecture hall, the professor’s presence filled the room with a quiet stillness. The air felt as if time itself had paused, and every gaze was fixed upon her.
"Today, we will conduct the ceremony to bestow magical spirits upon you."
Her deep, resonant voice echoed softly through the vast classroom.
As the professor spread her hands and prepared to release her concentrated magical energy, the atmosphere in the room grew noticeably heavier. Emma closed her eyes and took a deep breath.
"Viranium."
The moment the professor chanted the spell, the space around them wavered. An invisible force spread through the air, like a gentle breeze carrying unseen energy. The next instant, tiny lights appeared throughout the classroom, each one floating before a different student.
"Look!"
Sophia exclaimed excitedly. Emma turned her gaze in the same direction. Before her eyes, a tiny spirit with translucent wings hovered in the air. Perched on Sophia's shoulder was a bright blue spirit, fluttering lightly.
Emma looked in front of her as well. There, glowing softly, was a dog-shaped magical spirit, floating gently. It had kind, gentle eyes. When Emma reached out her hand, the spirit wagged its tail happily and floated closer.
"These are the magical spirits that have been granted to you. They will become your strength and light your path. Learn and grow alongside them."
Taking those words to heart, Emma gazed at her spirit. It seemed to sense her feelings, gently placing its paw on her hand. A warm sensation spread through her, and she couldn't help but smile.
