“…The little mermaid lifted her clear bright eyes toward God’s sun, and for the first time her eyes were wet with tears.…”
While he read that phrase, he closed a book tiredly.
Noah is a poor man, and he has no money and time to spend to do anything without work. Yesterday, he got the book from one gentleman, the man gave it to him out of pity.
“What should I do by this book? Get Knowledges? Sale to someone?
…There is no wealthy man who know my life doesn’t change by only one book.”
Noah sighed and put the book on his bed. Tomorrow is his only holiday in this month. He stood up slowly, gave his gaze to the book again.
“…Let’s go to sea.”
Somehow, he wanted to go to sea. If he thought about it now, maybe he was going to die, or not. He gripped his room’s doorknob, even he didn’t wear his shoes.
Out of the door, there was dark around him. How much he walked, he arrived at the sea.
“Cold…” He whispered and he touched some sands slowly. The sands fell by the gap between his gnarled fingers.
“Hello, what are you doing?”
Suddenly he heard someone’s voice behind him, he turned around.
There was a beautiful woman in front of him. Her charming blue eyes are, moist blonde hair is, he doesn’t know why, but he attracted by all of her.
“I want to ask that to you too. …I, I am Noah. What is your name?”
“I’m Rita.” She smiled.
Rita said that it is the first time to visit here, so she went to the sea, and she was spending time.
“Tomorrow is my holiday. Can will introduce about my town for you?”
Noah was very happy that he made an appointment of dating with Rita. They promised to meet here at tomorrow nine ‘o’clock and left the beach.
Tomorrow morning, Noah went to the sea to meet Rita. He pulled out the best clothes in his poor closet and waiting for Rita’s coming.
“Hi, Noah. I am so excited to see this town with you.”
Yesterday, she was in the dark, but today, she was shined by the sunlight, and she was so attractive. Everything around her is perfect, from the shoes to the top of her head. Noah was already melted by all of her.
At first, he was being forced her shopping. It was boring, but he was enjoying seeing Rita’s shopping. They spent a lot of time in the shopping mall, and they talked about them each other.
Rita said she was born in a small town near the sea, she spent all her life in the town until today. So, she didn’t know about outside of the town a lot.
“I’m really enjoyed hearing about the world from you! I am so happy to find a handsome navigator. thanks, Noah.”
“Oh, are you flattering me? …I want to say thanks to you too. I'm happy to have met a woman like you.”
Rita smiled again.
“Where do you want to go next?” Noah asked Rita. Rita thought some seconds and move her rosy lip slowly. “I want to go there.”
She pointed at the restaurant, which is the most expensive one in this town. Noah’s face turned up white. He didn’t have much money, furthermore, he has never eaten at expensive restaurant.
“Rita… I, I’m so sorry but, …that is too expensive for me….”
Rita roughed. “Don’t worry, I’ll pay it.”
“Full course meal…. This is my first time to eat it, and the last time, maybe.” Noah said.
“We must select the main dish. Fish or …Beef? Mmm….” Rita made a bitter face.
“Do you hate beef?” Noah asked. “No, but I didn’t try it.” Rita glared the menu.
“Why don’t you try that? This is a chance to eat this.”
Noah smiled and shook Rita’s hand strongly. “Let’s try!”
Rita was stunned for a while. She opened her eyes widely and roughed. “As you say.”
Their happiness day finished, at least they went to the sea.
“Noah, are you free tomorrow?”
“No, I must work until next Sunday. …I will visit the sea at night. Can you come, Rita?”
“Of course. I want to talk with you more.”
Next day night, he went to the sea. When he was waiting Rita’s coming, he read the book.
“Hi, Noah! …What are you reading?” Rita sat on the beach and leaned on Noah.
“Someone gave me this book. I’m not good at reading a long story, but it is interesting.”
“…I see.” Rita looked the title of the book, looked away few second.
“…SO! What will we talk about? I want to hear about your life today!” Rita changed the topic.
Night was falling. He didn’t know why, Noah felt loneliness from Rita’s singing.
The third day, Noah was working at the factory of canned club. Yesterday he talked with Rita, so he feels good, unusually. When he was having a lunch, his friend Richard came.
“You look so happy. What’s up?” Richard asked, so Noah talked about Rita.
“Noah…. Do you know what people call women like that? Fame Fatale.”
“Fame, what?” “Fame Fatale. The beautiful women who attract men and lead to destruction.
You met she at the sea, so maybe she is Lorelei…, no, what we call it….” He frowned.
“Rita don’t do that…, maybe.” Noah explained, but Richard didn’t hear his word.

At night, Noah went to the sea to talk Rita. Rita was already coming, she found Noah and suddenly started singing. Noah became sleepy, his legs walked into the sea itself.

Rita took off her clothes and changed her to the mermaid.

“Mermaid!? Wait, I can’t understand!” Noah said. “Live in the sea! How can I live there!?”
“I’ll figure it out. Please, Noah!” Rita requested. “I…, I will be killed by the sea witch if I couldn’t bring you to my town.” Rita told breathless.
“Ok, Rita. Maybe you have some reason. So, can you give me a time to think about it?”
Rita opened her beautiful blue eyes widely. She put her face into the sea, she smiled.
“Yes, I am waiting you forever. I promise.”
Rita dived deep in the sea and went back to her home. Noah looked her tail fin for a long time.
The day after day, Noah went to the sea, but Rita didn’t come to there. The wave is always moving the way they feel, carrying only bubbles.
What did Rita feel then? We don’t have a way to know that.
…Because we can’t see the tear of mermaid in the sea.
