The City of Winds
Leaving the City of Winds behind, I once again set foot in the vast world. Carrying the ancient tome I obtained there and driven by a thirst for new knowledge, I set out for uncharted lands. The book suggests that further magical powers and the secrets of ancient civilizations may be hidden within it, to be unlocked through interaction with the wind spirits.
Uncharted lands stretch out beyond the City of Winds: rugged mountains, dense forests, and vast deserts. Guided by the book’s descriptions, I decide to first head for the ancient Temple of the Wind, said to have a strong connection to the wind spirits. The temple is reportedly located deep within a long, rugged mountain range to the north of the City of Winds.
Along the way, I face various hardships: ferocious monsters, unpredictable weather, and the loneliness of remote places. Yet I will never give up. Drawing on the experience and knowledge I gained in the City of Winds—and above all, my own spirit of inquiry—I push through these challenges.
One day, deep within the forest, I encountered an old hunter. The old hunter said he lived deep within the forest and had spent many years fighting monsters. I asked him about the path to the Temple of the Wind.
“The Temple of the Wind, you say? That place used to be a sanctuary, but now it’s become a den of monsters. Especially since the Wind Demon—a monster that manipulates the wind—took up residence there, no one has dared to go near it,” the old hunter replied.
Fūma. I had heard that name even in the City of Winds. An evil entity that manipulates the power of the wind to torment people. If Fūma have taken up residence there, the journey to the Temple of the Wind will surely become even more dangerous.
Even so, I resolved to head for the Temple of the Wind. If I can defeat the Fūma and obtain the ancient knowledge that sleeps within the temple, my quest should take a major step forward.
“Old Hunter, do you know anything about the Fūma?” I asked the old hunter.
The old hunter thought for a moment before answering. “It seems the Fūma not only wields the power of the wind but also uses illusions. They confuse people by hiding their forms or showing them phantoms. Be careful.”
With the old hunter’s advice in mind, I pressed deeper into the forest leading to the Temple of the Wind. Even in the daytime, the forest was dim and shrouded in an eerie atmosphere. Only the sound of the wind could be heard, gently rustling the trees.
I took out the Wind Spirit’s conch shell and spoke to the Wind Spirit. “Wind Spirit, lend me your power. So that I may defeat the Fūma and obtain the knowledge that lies within the temple.”
Then, the Wind Spirit’s conch shell began to glow faintly. And the voice of the Wind Spirit reached my ears. “Fear not; trust in your courage. I shall lend you my strength.”
Feeling the power of the Wind Spirit, I move closer, step by step, to the Temple of the Wind, where the Wind Demon lurks.
