第7章 新たな味方[Chapter 7: A New Ally]
試練を乗り越え、ライラは冒険の旅に出ようと意気込んでいた。しかし、冒険初心者のライラは、3人以上のパーティを組まなければ、ほとんどのミッションに挑戦できないことを知った。憂鬱になりながらも決意を固め、パーティメンバーを探すが、何度も断られる。それでも、彼女はあきらめなかった。

ライラはギルドの外で、行き交う冒険者たちを見つめていた。ゾーラは何気なく壁に寄りかかり、腕を組んで、はにかんだ笑みを浮かべていた。「どうやら宇宙が決めてくれたようだ。「パーティーが見つからないのなら、家に帰る時間かもしれない。恥ずかしくないよ ライラは彼を睨みつけ、苛立ちをあらわにした。「無理よ、パパ！何が何でもパーティーを見つけるわ！」。ゾーラはため息をつき、首を振ったが、内心では微笑んでいた。「パパが料理教室にこれほど執念を燃やしてくれるなら......」と彼は心の中でつぶやいた。ライラは立ち上がり、決意を新たにした。もう一度やってみようと決心し、ギルドホールに戻った。
深呼吸をすると、テーブルの前に座っている3人の冒険者のグループに近づいた。「こんにちは、ライラです。「パーティを組みたいんだけど、よかったら一緒にどう？リーダーの白髪交じりの剣士は、彼女をちらりと見ただけで、首を横に振った。「すまんな、小僧。新人の子守をしている暇はないんだ」。「ライラは微笑みを失ったが、丁寧にうなずき、先に進んだ。
次に彼女は一人の魔道士に近づいた。流麗なローブに身を包み、杖を椅子に立てかけている若い女性だった。「失礼ですが」ライラは緊張した面持ちで話し始めた。「パーティをお探しですか？私はまだ始めたばかりですが、努力家ですし......」魔道士は眉をひそめて言った。「初心者？悪いけど、足手まといになるような人に時間を割きたくないんだ。「彼女のぶっきらぼうな言葉が胸に刺さったが、ライラは無理に前進を続けた。彼女はバーで笑っている3人組の射手を見つけ、近づく前に少しためらった。「こんにちは！私はライラです。「その装備で？パス。「でも......」。ライラは言おうとしたが、彼らはそれ以上何も言わずに背を向けた。不合格が重なるにつれ、ライラの自信は揺らぎ始めた。ギルドホールの真ん中でぎこちなく立ち尽くし、次に誰に声をかければいいのかわからなくなっていた。以前の決意は遠い記憶のように感じ始めた。彼女は巨大な斧を背負ったドワーフに近づいた。「失礼ですが、あなたは......」「興味ない」と彼は唸り、彼女の言葉を最後まで聞かずに立ち去った。彼女は肩を落として立ち去ろうとしたが、掲示板の近くに座っている優しそうな女性を見つけた。一縷の望みをかけて、ライラは彼女に近づいた。「こんにちは、ライラです。パーティーメンバーを探しているのですが......」女性は申し訳なさそうに微笑んだ。「ごめんなさい。ごめんなさい。でも頑張って！」
彼女は次々と冒険者に声をかけ、自己紹介をし、自分のパーティに加わらないかと誘った。
「悪いな、小僧。自分のチームがあるんだ」。
「お前、Dランクか？興味ない。
「他の選手にしてみたら？」
その優しい言葉は慰めにはならなかった。ライラは外に出た。ギルドの入り口近くのベンチに腰を下ろし、両手で頭を抱えた。拒絶されるたびに、彼女の肩は少しずつ落ち込んだが、目は燃えるようだった。

午後も遅くなり、ギルドには人がいなくなり始めていた。ライラは苛立ちのあまり注意を怠り、角を曲がったところで誰かにぶつかった。「おい、気をつけろ」彼女は言いかけたが、途中でやめた。ぶつかった青年はすでに申し訳なさそうに頭を下げていた。彼は黒髪の短髪で、鋭い緑色の目をしていた。ライラが怒る気にもなれないほど、物腰は穏やかで上品だった。「申し訳ありません」彼は滑らかで丁寧な声で言った。「思いにふけって、あなたのことが見えませんでした。どうか許してください」。ライラは瞬きをし、苛立ちが溶けていった。彼女はどもりながら、「あ、あの...大丈夫です...たぶん... 」と言った。青年は背筋を伸ばし、柔らかく親しみやすい表情になった。「私はエイドリアン・ヴァルモントです。「あなたは？「ライラよ」彼女はためらいがちに握手をした。エイドリアンは温かく微笑んだ。「初めまして、ライラ。初めまして、ライラ。見たことがないような気がする"。ライラはうなずいた。「初心者は一人では任務に就けないらしいんだけど、そんなこと知らなくて......」エイドリアンが手を挙げて彼女を止めた。「なるほど。パーティメンバーを探してるんだね」。
ライラは頬を紅潮させながらうなずいた。ライラは固まった。これは夢？これは夢？ライラはすぐに顔をそむけた。エイドリアンは彼女の反応を誤解して、すぐにこう付け加えた。わかったよ」 「そうだ！」 ライラは叫び、突然振り返った。「つまり、あなたは私のパーティに参加できる！"と。エイドリアンの顔が笑顔で輝いた。「ありがとう、ライラ！ありがとう、ライラ！ベストを尽くすと約束するよ」。ライラが反応する前に、エイドリアンは彼女の手を取り、熱烈に握手した。「明日の朝、ギルドで会おう」。トマトのように赤くなったライラは、すぐに手を離し、「あ、うん、明日の...朝...」とつぶやいた。

その夜、ライラはベッドに横たわり、枕を握りしめて馬鹿みたいに笑った。「パーティーメンバーを見つけたわ。「そして彼はとても...かっこいい。一方、ゾーラは玄関から彼女を眺め、首を横に振った。「最近の子供は...」と彼はつぶやいた。

翌朝、ライラはわくわくしながら早起きした。身支度を整えながら、彼女はパーティーのメンバーがあと一人必要なことに気づいた。興奮は少し冷めたが、彼女はそれを振り払った。一歩ずつね」と彼女は自分に言い聞かせた。「もう一人探そう。そうしなくちゃ！」 エイドリアンを最初の味方として、ライラの偵察任務は続いた。

After passing her trials, Lila was eager to begin her adventuring journey. However, she discovered that beginner adventurers like her needed to form a party of at least three to take on most missions. Depressed but determined, she set out to find party members, only to face repeated rejections. Despite her spirits dipping, she refused to give up.

Lila sitting outside the guild, staring at the every adventurers coming and going. Zora leaned casually against the wall, arms crossed, with a sly smile. "Well, it seems the universe has decided for us," he said, faking concern. "Since you can't find a party, maybe it's time to head back home. No shame in it, you know." Lila shot him a glare, her frustration visible. "Not a chance, Papa! I'll find a party no matter what it takes!" Zora sighed, shaking his head but smiling inwardly. "If only you were this determined about cooking lessons," he muttered to himself. Lila sprang to her feet, her resolve reigniting. She marched back into the guild hall, determined to try again.
Taking a deep breath, she approached a group of three adventurers seated at a table, their gear worn but polished from use. "Hi! I'm Lila," she said with a bright smile. "I'm looking to form a party and was wondering if you'd like to join me?" The leader, a grizzled swordsman, barely glanced at her before shaking his head. "Sorry, kid. We don't have time to babysit rookies. "Lila’s smile faltered, but she nodded politely and moved on.
Next, she approached a lone mage, a young woman dressed in flowing robes with a staff leaning against her chair. "Excuse me," Lila began nervously. "Are you looking for a party? I just started, but I’m a hard worker, and—"The mage raised an eyebrow, cutting her off. "A beginner? Sorry, I don't want to waste my time on someone who'll slow me down. "Her blunt words stung, but Lila forced herself to keep going. She spotted a trio of archers laughing at the bar and hesitated for a moment before approaching them. "Hi! I'm Lila, and I was wondering if you—"One of them burst out laughing before she could even finish. "You? With that gear? Pass." "But—" Lila tried, but they turned their backs on her without another word. As the rejections piled up, Lila’s confidence began to waver. She found herself standing awkwardly in the middle of the guild hall, unsure of who to approach next. Her earlier determination started to feel like a distant memory. She approached a dwarf with a massive axe slung over his back. "Excuse me, sir, are you—""Not interested," he grunted without even letting her finish, walking away. Her shoulders slumped as she turned to leave, but then she spotted a kind-looking woman seated near the notice board. Clinging to a thread of hope, Lila approached her. "Hello, I’m Lila. I’m looking for party members and though, "The woman smiled apologetically. "I’m sorry, dear. I already have a full team. But good luck!"
She approached adventurer after adventurer, introducing herself and asking if they'd join her party.But rejection after rejection followed.
"Sorry, kid. I've got my own team."
"You? A D-rank? Not interested."
"Maybe try someone else."
The kind words were little comfort. Lila stepped outside, her spirits crushed. She sank onto a bench near the guild’s entrance, her head in her hands. With each rejection, her shoulders slumped a little more, but her eyes remained fiery.

It was late afternoon, and the guild was starting to empty out. Lila, in her frustration, wasn't paying attention and bumped into someone as she turned a corner. "Hey, watch where you're—" she started but stopped mid-sentence. The young man she had bumped into was already bowing apologetically. He had short, dark hair, sharp green eyes, and a demeanor so calm and refined that Lila couldn't bring herself to be angry. "I'm terribly sorry," he said, his voice smooth and polite. "I was lost in my thoughts and didn't see you. Please forgive me." Lila blinked, her frustration melting away. She stammered, "Oh, um… it's fine… I guess…" The young man straightened up, his expression soft and approachable. "I'm Adrian Valmont," he said, extending his hand. "And you are?" "I-I'm Lila," she managed, shaking his hand hesitantly. Adrian smiled warmly. "Nice to meet you, Lila. You seem new here. I don't think I've seen you around before." Lila nodded, her words stumbling out before she could stop them. "Yeah, I just passed my trials a few days ago, and now I'm trying to find party members because, well, apparently, beginners can't take missions alone, and I didn't know that, and—"Adrian, holding up a hand to stop her. "I see. So you're looking for party members?"
Lila nodded, her cheeks flushing."Well then," Adrian said with a slight bow, "if it's alright with you, may I join your party?" Lila froze, her mind racing. Is this a dream? Is this really happening? She quickly turned her face away, hoping Adrian wouldn't see her blush. Adrian, misinterpreting her reaction, quickly added, "If you don't want me to, that's fine too. I understand—" "Yes!" Lila shouted, turning back abruptly. "I mean, yes, you can join my party!" Adrian's face lit up with a smile. "Thank you, Lila! I promise I'll do my best." Before Lila could react, Adrian took her hand and shook it enthusiastically. "I'll see you tomorrow morning at the guild," he said. Lila, now red as a tomato, quickly pulled her hand away and mumbled, "Uh, yeah, tomorrow… morning…" before dashing off.

That night, Lila lay on her bed, clutching her pillow and grinning like a fool. "I found a party member," she whispered to herself. "And he's so… cool." Meanwhile, Zora watched her from the doorway, shaking his head. "Kids these days," he muttered, though he was glad to see her happy again.

The next morning, Lila woke up early, brimming with excitement. As she got ready, though, she realized she still needed one more party member. Her excitement dimmed slightly, but she shook it off." One step at a time," she said to herself. "I'll find someone else. I have to!" With Adrian as her first ally, Lila's scouting mission continued.
