Conclusion. Buddhism is the Science of Energy-Matter Exchange
I would like to conclude that Buddhism is not Religion but highly sophisticated Particle Physics, especially covering the Energy-Matter Exchange. As is often the case with various religions, the original teaching had been sometimes contorted by next generations for long periods. It cannot be avoidable because of the difficulty to understand the originator’s intention. Even the Einstein’s Relativity Theory might not be understood correctly without any modern sophisticated observing tools.
The biggest difference between Buddhism and other religions might be that Buddhism supposes no end of Universe and even the Universe could be reincarnated. Other religion, for example, Christianity supposes the Doomsday. Even the modern science, Astrophysics, prospects the End of Universe which will occur in the far distant future more than 100 billion years. It is completely different from the catastrophe of Earth or the collapse of Humanity. Universe itself should be ruined. At that time we will have no escape and find no haven in this world.
Astrophysicists are sometimes discussing the Start of Universe. Tunneling Effect, Inflation, Big Bann etc. and what was really existing before the birth of Universe. At present the common conclusion of these people is “Nothing” namely “No Space and No Time”. But even such people say that the true vacuum energy had been existing. Yes, it is possible to consider some kind of world without any Space and Time. Scientist sometimes deny the world which cannot be observed or calculated. On the contrary Buddhism regards “Nothing” as the normal and desirable status namely “GOKURAKU”.
Then how can we think about “Nothing”? Do our souls have any consciousness? Can we continue to live in GOKURAKU? In some occultism a human soul has consciousness and dose something evil in our world. Is that possible? In terms of Physics if the human memory can be digitalized, it might be possible to install them in some memory chips. If such technology is much more sophisticated, even human consciousness can be kept in digital instrument. Further, all human memory and consciousness could be digitalized in some energy patterns and be kept without any substances. In “STAR TREK”, the popular USA Science Fiction drama, there was a story covering the pure energy lifeforms without any substantial bodies. It is really the very “Ghost”.
Is such lifeforms thinkable in the highly advanced world? I do not have any sure answer to this question. All I can say is that Buddhism is not supposing such case. As I mentioned in File2 Buddhism teaches us that all human senses and consciousness are “Virtual Reality” and must be abandoned. Trying to survive still after the death would be against the teaching of Buddhism. Though you might feel it a little cold-hearted, the final goal of Buddhism is not to save an individual life but save all things in this Universe, namely “DAIJYO=Mahayana”.
I would like to insist again that Buddhism is not a cold-hearted religion but it does just teach us the Truth of Universe. Do not ask Buddhism for any Savings. We must objectively analyze the Buddhism’s Words and sincerely try to understand the Truth of Universe.
