Chapter Ten End of Life
One day, Hitomi stopped receiving letters from Akiko. Hitomi felt worried and called Shogo. To her shock, Akiko had passed away from pneumonia in a hospital.
From grief, Hitomi couldn’t eat or sleep for several days and stayed numb. After some time, Hitomi’s physical condition grew worse and required hospitalization.
By talking to a nurse, Hitomi felt better and eventually passed away as well.
“Thanks Akiko. Let’s meet again in Heaven.” These were Hitomi’s last words.
Because her life was perfect, there were no regrets. Hitomi smiled as she died, and went off to Akiko's side.
