Prologue: Stirring
Long ago, a kingdom fell.
A land bound to faith, to the sword, and to the fading glint of its ideals.
All speak of how it ended.
But few recall the girl at its heart.
And so I chose to remember her.
This is the tale of Lizena, princess by blood,
chained by creed and crown—
yet walking by her own will.

In that moment, she had naught.
The capital lay besieged.
The temple stood mute.
And behind the throne—no path, no refuge.
She could neither command nor pray.
And still, she stood.
As if to greet the quiet end of all things.
Yet that moment was not an end.
It was the breath before a beginning.

She bore no sword.
Nor was she wise or cunning.
Only the strength to believe was hers.
Strangers she met upon the road.
Companions once known—now returned, now divided.
Choices made: to guard one life, to forsake another.
Not as royalty, but as a lone soul,
she trusted more deeply than most,
wavered more fiercely than any—
and still, walked onward.

There is much I wish to tell.
But the words are yet beyond reach.
So I shall unravel them, thread by thread.
Amid fire and ash—
what she beheld.
What she chose.
And what her steps became.

This is no saga of heroes.
No myth. No legend.
And yet—I believe.
That she was there.
That to speak of her bears meaning.
If Lizena’s life,
in some quiet way,
might light a flame within another—

This story is a full-length novel told across multiple chapters.
Each chapter is made up of twenty-five episodes—roughly the length of a light novel.
New chapters will be released every other Friday at 20:00 (JST).
There will be no daily updates or fragmented releases.
Each chapter arrives whole, at once.

I deeply apologize for the sudden notice right before the scheduled release. Due to changes in my personal circumstances, a decline in my health, and an increase in real-life obligations, I am currently unable to begin the serialization as planned.
I sincerely apologize for letting you down, especially after so many of you kindly read the prologue, bookmarked the series, and shared your thoughts with me. I fully acknowledge that disappointing you like this is unacceptable—not only as a writer, but as a person.
This series is now officially on hold, but not cancelled. Once I am in a more stable situation and able to commit to consistent updates, I will make a formal announcement.
