Chapter Six
If distance turns into loneliness and leads to breaking up, I think it is impossible for love to work out unless you get married. However, if love perseveres through everything, I believe it is possible for love to last for eternity.
A love that is not limited by anything, not even the ocean. It’s called love call.
The ocean shines bright. The sunlight is warm. I felt Kazuya’s warmth from the other side of the horizon. I went outside with my cellphone.
Just then, my cellphone beeped. It was from Kazuya.
“Hello?”
“Thanks for the call. I am grateful towards you too, Rina. I’m sorry I didn’t notice your worries.”
“That’s fine.”
There was a moment of silence.
“And I just wanted to tell you that I love you. I haven’t been able to say it, but your call reminded me how special you are to me."
“... Really, thanks. And thanks for calling back.”
“Yes, so... Let’s always stay together. Even if we are not good at communication. Let’s exchange phone calls and Emails.”
“I agree! Let’s stay careful about our cell phone bills though.”
We laughed a little. The sun seemed to be smiling gently too.
Next is summer. I wanted to wear my bathing suit and go to the sea and pool together. I wanted to stay happy with Kazuya.
“Kazuya, do you know what these calls are called?”
“I don’t know.”
“It’s called love call. It’s because it is a phone call for the one you love.”
“Really? Then are Emails for the one you love called love mails?”
Our conversation went on like this. I felt so happy that I was going out with the boy of my dreams. I wanted to cherish every moment of life and also show gratitude towards God. I went on talking with Kazuya, as the spring wind blew at my hair and the sun continued to shine warmly.
