Chapter Eight Welcome Home, Mikako!
When I turned 60, I stopped acting in movies. I decided to live with Ryo in Japan.
The welcome home party was fabulous. There was about a hundred people including the movie making staffs, but I was most happy to see my friends Hanako, Nicole, Miwako and my advisor Kevin.
During the party, there was a large cake put in front of me.
“Miwako and I made it.” Hanako said proudly.
“Thank you!” Tears welled in my eyes. These are the times when I feel troubled from crying so easily.
On the pink and white cake, there were six large candles and a message written in red that said, 'Welcome home, Mikako!'
“Okay, picture time!”
The first picture. A picture of everybody. Of course, I was winking next to Ryo and clenching my fist.
Second picture. I was kissing Ryo’s cheek.
Third picture. Kevin with cake on his nose and laughing.
Fourth picture. Hanako, Miwako, Nicole and me. I love you all!
Fifth picture. Ken and Rin, all grown up.
In this way, everybody celebrated my return to Japan.
I felt this was a start. A start to spend the rest of my life with Ryo, and also a start to the long road for heaven. In there, Kevin may be a frog and I may be a wind. Everybody can be whatever they wish. Until then, I hope everybody can stay as one... I prayed to God.
I felt that God was telling me that was fine. I felt Him smiling down at me.
Then Ryo took my hand, and we went outside.
In the sky, the stars were shining brightly. “Among all these stars, I’m happy that I was able to meet the one star like Mikako.”
“Me too.” I whispered.
“You are incredible.” Ryo laughed and held me close.
“So are you.” I laughed.
We stayed on laughing under the beautiful crescent moon.
