Chapter Three High School -Why Me!?-
I was getting better at basketball and made some friends from high school.
One day, I was going home with a boy named Keisuke and a girl named Mayuko. Mayuko was a friend I made recently.
“Mr. Ikeda's class is so funny. He always talks about his dogs. He must really like them.”
“I thought Mr. Hasegawa’story about Doraemon was funny. He said Jyaian was kind to his younger sister.”
“I like Ms. Mizutani's music class. She’s so pretty.”
Recently, I was able to talk with my friends. I hoped that the three of us could stay as good friends.
However, that night I was asked out by Keisuke from E-mail.
Why me...? How was I supposed to reply?
I had a talk with my older sister and she said, “Maybe it’s too early for you to go out with somebody.”
It was true that I couldn’t imagine myself having a mature relationship with a boy like my sister and her boyfriend. Also, there were many girls who liked Keisuke, so I was afraid he might cheat on me.
As it turned out, I rejected by E-mail.
When I talked to Mayuko about it, she said, “That’s so unbelievable.”
I felt that everybody had different opinions.
Mayuko seems to like Keisuke.
“His thick eyebrows and loose personality is so great! I love him so much.”
“Then why don’t you ask him out?”
The moment I said that, I regretted it. If my two friends started going out with each other, where would I belong?
“Yes, maybe I will. Thanks Mikako!”
Before I could say anything, Mayuko went running off. I sighed in the hallway.
For the first time in my life, I found that romance and friendships were both difficult.
