"The Star and The Flower" by Bansui Doi

The same mother nature's hand

Raised the big and little sisters

The holy sky's flower is called the Star

Our world's star is called the Flower

It's separated in here and there

But the Star and the Flower have the same scent

In night and evening, the Star and the Flower

Kindly trades the smile and light

Thus the dawn ーー the cloud is white

When the holy sky's Flower withers

Behold! The one drop of white dew

Our world's Star shows the tear

『星と花』土井晩翠

同じ「自然」のおん母の

御手にそだちし姉と妹

み空の花を星といひ

わが世の星を花といふ。

かれとこれとに隔たれど

にほひは同じ星と花

笑みと光を宵々に

替はすもやさし花と星

されば曙　雲白く

御空の花のしぼむとき

見よ白露のひとしづく

わが世の星に涙あり。
