Diary of thoughts
The story unwinds to enter the last chapter of Kaito's life. He memorises the moments with Tsumugi and his life as a kid while his expressions hiding the true pain he's living
"Can you cook?"
There was an awkward silence which was broken by the noises made by Kaito's stomach. "Can't you come home with a full stomach, you fool?!!" Tsumugi shouted in rage, meanwhile Kaito gave a covering up answer, "I didn't had money." with a protective artificial giggle.
Tsumugi ordered a couple of cup noodles, pudding (only for her) & a juice. The order arrived, was picked up by Kaito. Kaito was robbed at the stairs by the in-charge. The two entered the balcony where some preparations were already made by Tsumugi. "Moon-san!! Long time no see yo!!" Kaito waved to the moon for which the moon didn't gave any answer. "He, doesn't replies to fools like you." Tsumugi stated opening up her packed cup noodles. "No, it's not like that. He's just scared of demons. "Listening from this Tsumugi slid while taking the first bite her cup noodles. Kaito moved his view from the moon towards Tsumugi but before he could complete this action, he received his pack of cup noodles directly on his face. Kaito spent rest a few seconds after the assault protecting his cup noodles from having a free fall from the balcony. "Saved it!" Kaito cried out with a cheerful voice. "How dare you call me a demon!" Tsumugi questioned. "Did I specify you are the demon?" Kaito came up with the best logic. Tsumugi was ashamed and just giggled to wrap it up.
The moon rose, the dinner was over, they both sat quietly beside each other, admiring the darker shade of the blue sky, full of stars. "Remember, Kaito's eyes shined with the reflection of the thousands, millions & billions of stars in them as he continued," when we used to spend our nights like this to enjoy this view. Mom told us to sleep early and tugged us up in our bed, but we acted to have slept & when she left the room, we came here with all the snacks in that room we saved. We chatted, we laughed, made plans for our future where I always planned to open a snack store, so that I had plenty to sit & eat & you always told that you are a princess from a different world & someday you'll return to that world to conquer your lands." Kaito smiled. "Ya!" Tsumugi smiled with joy, " & I also remember that aunt would come the next morning & after taking a view of all what we did the whole night she got furious." Tsumugi enjoyed memorizing it all. "Mom really had a great strength, those slaps off her, woww!" Kaito admired with an awe placing a hand on his chin still admiring the sky.
"And you always took it all on you," Tsumugi said in a calm voice.
"Ya, otherwise you would have also been an admirer of Mom's strength like me." Kaito laughed & so did she.
"I admire you," She said. "You are kind, full of joy, full of thoughts, alive", she expressed. Kaito looked at her as she said this, then again shifting his view towards the moon he said, "Maybe, may not be. I just hate silence. I just......", he stopped. "I never heard of you hating someone," Tsumugi answered. "Just following new trends these days, don't worry", Kaito stated while Tsumugi watched him.
They cleaned the balcony, collected the packets & cups for disposal. Tsumugi came to wish him a 'good night', but found him sitting on the chair near his study table, filling up his diary. "Hey Kaito," she spoke, entering the room. "Not gonna sleep yet? It's already late." she asked him while he sat there with his face towards the wall.
"Not now. I wish to spend some time with my diary."
