A generic ending

Prologue

Well, this is just a game story.

There are only choices, destinies, and unexpected developments.

Let's get started.

Life is just a gamble. It's the ultimate game of chance, and it all depends on your ability to make the right choices at the right time.

If you realize that life is for "experience", there is no such thing as winning or losing.

Learn how to create your own destiny. Don't leave everything to the whims of fate.

Life is just a game of chance, a dance with fate. Either accept it that way or play by your own rules and win.

When death is included in this equation, we are just pawns.

This game, called the Game of Life, is full of possibilities, but it always leads to death.

The equality we crave is just a fault line drawn between life and death.

Even simple visual novels and games can dictate the rings of fate, inevitable endings, and the death, love, betrayal, and boredom that everyone experiences in their lives.

A story that transcends all the clichés imposed by this world ―― with the same beginning and different ending. Draw freedom and pursue absolute truth. It was all packed into a simple visual novel.

That is the "game paradox". An eye-opening story where myths and legends gather in one world. Who tells the greatest story in human history. Who can reach the light and transcend the world. That was the paradox of the game and the essence of the game of life.

While playing a peaceful and simple game, he was always looking forward to the next development and imagining the characters would face.

They felt like they were neither ordinary nor real, but transcended dimensions.

Yes, the term "transdimensional" was optimal. Whether in a place full of sadness or despair, their presence was the meaning of my life.

"The last day has arrived. Now that I've finished reading the masterpiece, I can see the ending. I'm sure there will be a beautiful ending. I have no regrets after 15 years. I can now see the end of a story greater than life.”

Tears spilled from his eyes, running down his lips and falling to the floor.

With joy in his heart, he opened a visual novel app.

But that joy disappeared in an instant and turned into fear.

"That's stupid...it can't have been deleted. That's...there's no way that would be accepted. I can't believe the meaning of my life disappears in this way

His heart, head, everything was blank.

Does meaning disappear so easily?

The pride and joy of the past had disappeared, and even humanity had been lost.

He lost his emotions for a moment. Everything turns gray and despair reigns.

Why did this happen to me? Why did God abandon him?

He looked at his smartphone and sent a message to the developer. I wanted it to be a bug.

After a while, I received a reply.

“There are no bugs in the game. However, it was sold to another company. From now on, including the ending, they will manage it.”

“But it was deleted!? Why, why is such a masterpiece a work that can be said to be the pinnacle of storytelling?”

"I said it was sold. Our novels originally had few readers and were dying. You'll be one of the 50 readers. Thank you, but there's nothing I can do.”

“What can I do? If it's money, I'll pay! He is one of the few people who faced this work until the end!”

"Hmm, it's possible to create a special ending...but the fee will be 746,000 yen"

"Do you think you can pay that amount?"

"Time is money". If you can't pay, don't ask.”

He cut off his smartphone, put his head on the floor, and smiled quite as he started walking.

As I headed home, I just smiled and picked up a knife.

“This world is really unequal. The only thing I wanted as a human being has disappeared. It's all because of this world.”

Stabbing in the stomach, blood flowing, hands trembling, anger and emotion scarring the body and soul. It was like Chuunibyou.

Lying on the floor, he muttered.

"It's a fucking visual novel"

And died.

When he woke up, he was in a world full of people. It was like a stadium.

“Welcome to Paradox Games. Wouldn't you be happy to be here?”
