For the first time
I was a genius from the time I was born. By the time I was one year old, I had learned to write by myself and could speak fluently, and by the time I was three years old, I was not satisfied with just Japanese, so I even started to speak English. I was able to do multiplication of 99 long before they taught it in school, and to begin with, I could easily do calculations just by lightly picturing the numbers in my mind. Perhaps it was because of my genius brain, but I have always been shunned at school, cram school, and various other places. I had no ill feelings about being a genius, and for some reason I had never lost to anyone in a test.
In the upper grades of elementary school, everyone began studying like mad for the junior high school entrance exam. In the midst of all this, I was quietly playing games alone in the study room of the cram school my parents had thrown me into at the time. I must have looked like a crazy person to the teachers and students at the cram school.
In the end, I entered Tokai Junior High School, one of the most prestigious schools in the Kansai region. Of course, even there, there was no one who could beat me in studies. I had won various prizes such as the Math Olympiad, the Physics Olympiad, and the Chemistry Olympiad with the measures I took during breaks to pass the time.
Tokai was an escalator school, so I went straight to Tokai High School. Just when I thought that I would be a peerless student there as well, I was right in the middle of it. In the first school test, I got the second place in the school. I thought, "No way, that can't be true. Because in junior high school, I was always the top student in the school test, and I was once 27 points ahead of the second place student in deviation score.
Rumor had it that the top student this time was a girl who went to an outside school. I see, she has a lot of guts to beat me and get the first place in the grade. If I had a chance to talk to her, I would love to do so...
