　一方、パリでは絵画をまるで元の姿に戻すかのような修復技術が噂になり、上海ではどんな傷をも治す闇医者の話が人づてに広がっていた。
　これは、京都の街角、パリの倉庫、上海の裏町、そして遠い過去の列車の中で起きた出来事が、ひとつの大きな輪郭を持ちはじめる群像劇。

　失われたものは、本当に戻るのか。
　そして、戻ってきたものは、はたして元のままなのか。

In Kyoto, there is, from time to time, what people call a “return.”

A missing key reappears at the front door. A lost trinket somehow finds its way back to its owner. For generations, such small mysteries have been whispered about in this city.

Meanwhile, in Paris, rumors spread of a technique that could return a painting to its original form. In Shanghai, word passed quietly of a shadow doctor who could mend any wound.

This is an ensemble story in which events on a Kyoto street corner, in a warehouse in Paris, in the back alleys of Shanghai, and aboard a train in the distant past slowly begin to form a single, larger shape.

Do lost things ever truly return?
And when they do, are they ever exactly as they were before?
