Chapter 8 Strangeness
When the three students noticed the strange flickering mirage in the direction their teacher was looking. They immediately grabbed their wands and cast different spells to attack the hazy figure. The students used different spells [Water Pellet], [Air Blade], and [Earth Bind] with varying levels of skill. Meanwhile, the two students who didn't see the strange phenomenon continued walking to the magic formation as if nothing had happened. The rest of the students acted as if nothing happened either, continuing as usual, not responding to the action in front of their eyes. This oddity bothered the teacher.
Kailey was surprised at being seen, leading to her inaction, allowing the magic aimed at her to hit her. Surprisingly, the magic didn't affect her at all! She effortlessly passed through the rock encasing her legs, and the water pellets that hit her had no impact. However, the [Air Blade] cut her skin, revealing she wasn't invulnerable to wind magic. The pain spiked Kailey's adrenaline, enabling her to think faster and become aware of something about the teacher and the three attacking her.
The teacher noticed something odd in the room. No one reacted as the three students on stage attacked the girl in front of them. Instead, they were focused on the board or taking notes. No one responded to the use of magic either. It was very unusual to the teacher as nothing like this had ever happened to her before. Even the two students who came up with them didn't react to the use of magic so close to them. They didn't even acknowledge their presence. As a test to see if anyone would respond, the teacher used a spell to create a massive explosion. The explosion only produced noise and bright visuals. After casting the spell, she sent it off, and everything exploded.
Kailey noticed something about the teacher and three students. They were aware of her presence. But when she tried to interact with the children and the other students, she was invisible to all of them. But these four people. Only four people out of the many she had tried to interact with could see Kailey and interact with her. That made these four people special in some way. Suddenly, a loud explosion racked the auditorium.
Gradually recovering from the blinding light and loud noise, Kailey quickly began chanting a spell to create a barrier around herself. Just as the barrier formed around Kailey, the teacher approached her. Kailey prepared herself, fearing another battle. But instead of the fight she expected, the teacher spoke to her using [Mind Speech]. "This is strange. Why is no one else reacting to this explosion besides you and me?"
