Pile of Papers
Chapter 336 Pile of Papers
"No, there is nothing wrong with what any of you did," Aleshia assured them. "I was just thinking it was about time to change the scenery and go exploring again. Your friends seem to be getting better and are waking up. So once they are good and healthy, I was thinking of leaving the camp." Aleshia carefully, not wanting to come across as if they were the reason she was planning to leave.
Rebel had grown teary-eyed, but she wiped the tears away. There was still emotion in her voice as she said, "Well, when the time comes, please let us know and don't disappear on us, okay? We want to wish you a proper farewell."
Daniel looked more alert now and shared his thoughts on the matter, "We shouldn't keep you if that's what you choose. However, we would like to thank you for everything you've done for the camp. As Rebel said, we would all like the chance to say our goodbyes when the time comes, so please don't go disappearing on us if you can help it."
Aleshia felt honored to hear such words directed towards her and thanked them, agreeing to their request. "Thank you, I'll do my best to let everyone know when I'm going to leave," she replied. Recalling what Daniel had said when she first entered the room, she added, "And going back to what you said earlier, I believe I can take on some of your load. Please let me know what else I can do to help you and the camp."
Daniel nodded after hearing Aleshia's willingness and searched through the papers on his desk, flipping some and moving others, creating a cacophony of noise and rustling pages. Once he found the documents he was thinking of, he pulled them from the pile and organized them into a tidy stack. After briefly reviewing the stack, he handed it to Aleshia. "Here, you can clear off a desk and work on these," he said before returning to his own work.
Aleshia settled into one of the relatively empty desks and cleared some space for herself. She was sitting next to Rebel, who offered her help, "Please feel free to ask for my help if things get complicated or if there's something you don't understand. I've been learning how this works, and I have the time to answer any questions you may have."
"Understood," Aleshia replied as she began to read through the documents.
