"Hmm, so he isn't entirely alright?" Jonah murmured with concern. "As long as he can recover, that should be fine. I appreciate your honesty." He lowered himself further into his bed and added, "I suppose I'll let you attend to him, and I'll try to drift off to sleep. Hopefully, I'll be recovered by the time of the next inspection so I can help Rebel and Daniel." With that, Jonah slowly fell asleep.
As Jonah drifted into dreamland, his last words clung to her mind. Aleshia was pondering their meaning as she went to check on the other man's possible injuries. After a cursory examination, nothing seemed wrong aside from the fact that he was emaciated, likely because he had not been able to eat well. Regardless, it looked like Lucia's magic was helping the body recover more quickly.
"Lucia, are you up for another?" Aleshia inquired.
Lucia earnestly responded, "I don't mind as long as you're feeling mentally and spiritually strong. I believe I've gotten used to the toll, enough so that I can heal at least two people in the same manner."
With Lucia's counsel, Aleshia moved to heal another patient; this time, it was a girl. Aleshia followed the same procedures and adjusted the circle slightly before aligning it with the girl's mana. Soon after, the familiar process began once again. Although used to the processes, Aleshia was still surprised by the brightness of the light and instinctively covered her eyes to shield them. Surprisingly, she could see traces of the light filtering through her arms. She added her other arm to shield her eyes and waited until Lucia said it was safe to lower it, as the brightness was overwhelming.
Aleshia waited for her eyes to adjust while Lucia examined the body. Once Aleshia could see clearly, Lucia turned to her and asked, "Should we restrain this one in case they cause a commotion like the last one, or should we knock them out as soon as they regain consciousness?"
"I don't think knocking them out is the best option," Aleshia replied, still a bit dazed. "But lightly restraining them might be more helpful than allowing them to struggle and potentially injure themselves."Aleshia looked around the room and spotted an empty cot, which she assumed belonged to Rebel. Once she reached the cot, she picked up the blanket.
When she returned to the girl, she rolled the blanket up and used it to restrain her, draping it over her body and loosely tying it beneath the cot. After inspecting her work, Aleshia stepped back, and just moments later, the girl regained consciousness.
