Chapter 202 Hecklers
After walking a considerable distance from the camp, Lucia encountered a group of nasty-looking people who began to heckle her.
"Hey there, sweetie! Looking for some fun?" one of them called out, gesturing toward an alleyway, clearly indicating a place to relocate.
"Why don't you come with us?" another said, trying to mask his obvious sneer.
The last man didn't join in on the heckling, but he was leering at Lucia, her body obscured by her robes. Since Lucia wanted to avoid any trouble following her way back to camp, especially after hearing the children's suggestion for a prime location to gather wood, she decided to take action against these scoundrels.
She retaliated by conjuring a water ball, floating it toward their heads, a small trail connecting the water to herself. Once the water made contact with their heads and lower regions, Lucia unleashed a spark of lightning that traveled rapidly along the water link. The result was a violent eruption of electrical discharges that singed their clothes and hair, leaving the ruffian's hair looking wild and frizzed.
When the group fell flat on their faces, Lucia finally canceled her spells and left, but not before injuring them in ways that would cause significant pain when they woke up.
After dealing with the bozos, Lucia tried to remember the path the children had given her. Once she recalled her destination, she continued walking, watched by the other residents of the slums, who had witnessed her display of power. From then on, no one seemed eager to confront or bother her again.
When Lucia arrived at the location described by the children, she found herself in a grove of trees. She began considering different ways to bring down the trees. With no choice but to use magic, she started testing her various spells and discovered that uprooting the trees using her mana was the simplest and most effective method. After uprooting a tree, she cast a spell, slicing the wood in half, smoothing it out, and infusing it with mana to transform it into sturdier boards. Once she had completed this process multiple times, she gathered all the boards and returned to the camp with them floating behind her.
When Lucia returned to camp, she immediately went to the room they had designated as their own. She opened the door and stepped inside, finding the room to resemble a child's imaginative version of a classroom with various boxes and supplies neatly organized throughout. She admired the children's creativity for a while before getting to work on carpentry, creating chairs, tables, a board, and various other classroom-related items.
