Searching For A Classroom

Chapter 201 Searching For A Classroom

Initially, Lucia had to persuade Daniel to allow her to teach the kids. When the children learned about this opportunity, they eagerly wanted to participate, recognizing that even a little knowledge would benefit them. Although many expressed interest in joining Lucia's class, Daniel hesitated to let them. After several days of persistent requests from the camp's children, Daniel eventually agreed. However, he plainly stated that he couldn't help with the setup because he was already short on cash and overwhelmed with the need to find job opportunities.

After accepting his terms, Lucia and her group quickly searched for an unused room. Unfortunately, they were unable to find any empty spaces. Instead, they decided to use a room with a few people inside, either resting or playing a makeshift game to pass the time. Once the kids from Lucia's group explained their purpose to the others in the room, everyone joined in to help.

Lucia instructed the children to gather cleaning supplies. They soon brought her a few dirty rags they had found. After borrowing these rags, She lightly moistened them with water conjured using Aleshia's mana and then distributed them to the children, letting them help with the cleaning.

At first, the kids were mesmerized by the magical display and surprised by the cold, wet rags. When they squeezed the rags, water drizzled out. Excited by this, they eagerly pressed the rags to their mouths as if they had just stumbled upon an oasis after being deprived of water for their entire lives. Lucia initially tried to stop them but realized their unusual behavior might be for the best.

When they had finished cleaning, Lucia examined the room and felt things were missing. She recalled what she needed and made a mental note of it. Then, she asked the children if they had items in the house that matched her description.

The children pondered Lucia's request for a long time, brainstorming several items that matched her description. After discussing their ideas, they eagerly raced to gather what they needed. When they returned, they carried an assortment of items, including stools made from chopped logs, wooden planks covered in dirt, and pieces of charcoal that seemed sharpened for writing.

Lucia inspected what they had brought and felt a bit dissatisfied. However, she did her best to hide her feelings and praised them for their work. Seeing their smiling faces softened her discontent, and her mind wandered to other thoughts.

Since Daniel wasn't around, she asked the kids surrounding her if they knew of a spot with a lot of wood. To her surprise, they did. After asking a few questions and receiving their answers, she left the camp on her own, having memorized the directions the kids provided.
