Chapter 12 Out of Body Experience
While Kailey was contemplating the difference between Words of Power and Words of Possession, she snapped back to the present moment. Kailey redirected her thoughts toward the contract before her and considered signing it. When she tried searching for something to write with. a strange sensation overcame her. Kailey suddenly felt her skin start to pulsate, and then her skin began glowing radiantly.
The teacher, noticing the strange glow in the corner of her eye, swiftly rose from her seat, quickly jumping away from Kailey and bracing herself for any unexpected events. Kailey's body started emanating a mesmerizing bluish-white light, and soon after, her soul emerged from her body, assuming the likeness of her physical form. Suddenly, the edges of her soul began to shed off like dead skin cells.
The sensation was excruciatingly painful and incredibly itchy. The feeling was reminiscent of being swarmed and viciously bitten by fire ants. After some time had passed, the process stopped. The specks of soul energy that had fallen on the ground during Kailey's ordeal began to float and converged together, taking on the form of a delicate-looking piece of chalk.
After the process concluded, Kailey gradually managed to overcome the lingering pain. Upon regaining her composure, she found herself suspended above her own body. Astonished by this new experience, Kailey tried to think of a way to return to her body. But before that, she just had to experience flying around. After fooling around for some time, Kailey drifted to where her body sat. However, when she tried to re-enter her body, she found herself unable to do so.
While Kailey was making the most of her new form, the teacher approached the chalk formed from soul energy. After cautiously examining the object with her heightened senses, she marveled at this discovery, dreading all the possibilities this single item contained.
'What would happen if this furthers the research into forbidden soul techniques? What would other people do if they got their hands on this object? And the girl who managed to create this object using her soul, what would happen if someone received information on this girl's ability? Would they do something as cruel as torturing the information on how to do something similar out of her? Should I kill this girl now to keep this information out of other people's hands?' The teacher thought in her head, depicting the darkness lurking within society.
Making chapter names for some reason is very difficult making the first few were a breeze but how do people make chapter names! argh.
