Chapter Five The Case at the Kobayashi's
The most suspicious person in the MILKYWAY company’s president Yohei Kobayashi’s murder case was Ryotaro Aiba, who had a debt of 15 million dollars to the company. He didn’t have an alibi. He said he had been walking alone.
Two days after the murder case, everybody received interrogation at the Kobayashi’s house. However, since nobody had touched Yohei’s food or had any motives, it didn’t take much time. Policeman Kishi was a reliable, veteran cop, while policeman John Matsushita was a young policeman.
After the two cops left, another case took place.
Hiroko, Sho, Yukiko and Mr. Takagi went home, leaving the kids at the Kobayashi’s. The Kobayashi’s house was very large. There was a nice pool outside.
“Hideki, let’s go outside!” Naoko pulled Hideki’s hand.
Ayaka ran behind the two of them.
“Let’s go Chiharu.” Makoto smiled warmly at Chiharu and lent her a hand.
Chiharu silently took Makoto’s hand.
Minami stayed inside with MILKYWAY’s board member Daisuke Fujino. Daisuke came after the police left. Soon, the vise president of the MILKYWAY company Keisuke Yasuda was coming. Saori was in the kitchen, making tea. In the meantime, Minami had a talk with Daisuke.
According to Daisuke, MILKYWAY used to be a part of the GALAXY company. However, three years ago, MILKYWAY separated from the GALAXY and became its rival. Last year, the GALAXY president Ken Yamazaki committed suicide and the GALAXY company closed down. MILKYWAY company was also getting close to bankruptcy, so they were going to have a meeting.
Saori came back from the kitchen. Just then, the limosine that Keisuke was riding on beeped, so Minami went to the front door.
BAM!!
The sound of explosion came from the living room. Minami went to the living room and saw that it was burning with fire.
“Saori! Daisuke!” Minami shouted.
There was no reply.
Minami leaned on the wall. She couldn’t move anymore. Am I going to die here...
Just then somebody came flashing in, picked Minami up and took her through the kitchen to the pool which was safe. The person was Hideki.
“Hide-” Naoko began to say but saw Minami looking weak and asked, “Are you okay, Minami?”
“I’m fine,” Minami croaked out.
The police arrived.
“Minami, are you okay?” the young policeman John rushed close to Minami. He seemed to like her.
“Um, yes...” Minami said awkwardly.
“It must have been scary. But there’s no need to worry now because I am here.”
John smiled.
Again, Ryotaro Aiba didn’t have an alibi.
“I didn’t do it!” he yelled.
“But you have the motives to kill and don’t have any alibis. I will arrest you as a suspect.” Policeman Kishi said.
“No way! It wasn’t me!”
He kept on shouting as he was taken by the police.
Another suspect appeared. It was Kentaro Yasuzaka. His father Manabu Yasuzaka went out with Saori during university. Manabu died from overwork, but that was because he still loved Saori even after they parted, and had to work hard to fill the pain. Kentaro had the motives to kill Yohei and Saori. Daisuke might have died from getting involved in the plan to murder.
Kentaro also protested that he was innocent, but didn’t have an alibi and got arrested.
