Prologue

こんにちは、この本は現在英語でのみ入手可能です。これは私の日本語がN5レベルしかないからです。近いうちに日本語でリリースするように頑張ります。機械翻訳がどれほど素晴らしいかわかりません。

This story tells of a young man with a gift. He was not born with this gift. In fact, this young man was not gifted in any regard. His name is Kaze. His mother was rarely a kind woman and his father came in and out of his life. His parents would frequently argue since he was a child. His earliest memory is of his father throwing an empty beer bottle at his mother as he watched blood and glass fall to the floor.

This impression of fear from such a young age had an effect on Kaze greater than anyone could imagine. One day Kaze was given a gift. On one particularly dark night when Kaze was but six years old, he sat outside in his garden, his ears only picking up on his parents screaming at each other. Kaze looked at the soil which was home to a number of insects. His eyes gleamed as he looked at the ants. They were an animal that Kaze was particularly fond of. Ants never argued with each other. Ants never fought each other. Ants worked in cohesion to benefit everyone. Life as an ant was peaceful.

Kaze put his hand to the harsh soil and an ant began to climb up his finger. The serenity of the ants awoke something inside of Kaze. Kaze had awoken a power through deep desire that was unique to him. As Kaze put his finger to the ground, it transformed into a hive of ants that ran away. Upon command, these ants would reform into Kaze’s finger. Kaze had the power to transform his body into insects and re-form them at will. Kaze could command every insect with serenity and total obedience because each insect was him and he was un-conflicted.

Kaze would later discover that his power was not limited to ants. At the age of twelve, he could transform his entire body into a hive of spiders. Kaze would practice in the mirror often. Because all of his insects worked in harmony, he named his power ‘Hive Mind’.

Later on in his life, Kaze would discover that he was not the only one who could do something extraordinary. He knew there were a few people like him and he knew that the exact number was probably little.
