The Abandoned Scarf I Upgraded With Dungeon Materials part2

“Alright, time to pull myself together. Let’s fix this scarf!”

I took a good look at it.

About one‑third of the scarf was torn apart, like it had been snagged on something and ripped violently.

Hmm… this calls for kakehagi.

Just then, another monitor appeared in front of me.

A transparent frame aligned with my field of vision, highlighting a single red dot on the scarf.

…Is that the starting point for the stitching?

I scooped a tiny bit of fabric at the indicated spot with the needle and began sewing.

Grandma’s kakehagi technique—passed down to me.

The torn fabric started coming together beautifully.

Then another red dot appeared—this time marking the endpoint.

I continued sewing, adding thread as needed.

The soft sound of fabric and thread rubbing together filled the room.

Ah… this is the good stuff.

I adjusted the pattern so it wouldn’t shift.

This thread is amazing—transparent, so it doesn’t interfere with the fabric.

It has just the right elasticity and stretch, and it glides smoothly.

I forgot about time and stitched with total focus.

Before I knew it, I was done.

Just as I was about to tie off the thread, an exclamation mark popped up on the screen.

“?”

“Warning: At completion, adhere the thread to the fabric. Knotting is prohibited.”

Adhere it? How am I supposed to…?

Then it hit me.

This is spider silk. Spider’s thread.

I pressed the remaining thread onto the fabric.

It flashed for a moment.

“Whoa… that’s incredible…”

The finished scarf looked perfect—no sign it had ever been torn.

Even with Grandma’s technique, I’m still a beginner.

Normally, there’s no way it would turn out this flawless…

But it did.

Right—let’s Appraise it.

■ Wind Scarf → Gale Neck Ornament

Quality: Excellent

Effects (when worn around the neck):

Agility +30%

Wind Magic +5%

By weaving in spider silk, the scarf can channel wind power more efficiently.

Estimated Market Price: ¥500,000

…Didn’t the first Appraisal say something like +10%?

Why is it way better now?

And what’s with this “estimated market price” thing?

That wasn’t there before!

Seriously?

Can performance really improve just from repairing it a little?

Maybe I should try equipping it.

Ah, but outside the dungeon I probably won’t notice anything…

I’ll test it tomorrow at work.

Alright—better sleep early for tomorrow!

I pulled out my futon and turned off the light.

I can’t wait for tomorrow…

It’s been years since I went to bed this excited… Zzz—

Hah!!!

I completely forgot about the Skill Orb!!!

I turned the light back on.

From the plastic bag, I took out the pitch‑black, used‑up Skill Orb.

“Uh… I’m supposed to soak it in salt water, right?”

The orb was about the size of a ping‑pong ball, so a mug or cup would work.

I just needed to make salt water and drop it in…

…But how much salt am I supposed to use?
