Side Story: The Three Sages of the World (Tres Magi)
A void.
Silent, endless, and lit only by three floating monoliths—each carved with ancient sigils.
This was the meeting place of the Tres Magi, the Three Sages of the World.
Caspar
“Regarding the recent report from the Central Special Research Institute…”
Melchior
“The loss of a mid‑tier humanoid official is… unfortunate.”
Balthazar
“I concur. And the rare crystal used in the experiment was destroyed as well.”
Melchior
“There is also the secondary report.
The matter beyond our comprehension.
How shall we proceed?”
Caspar
“I believe… we may need to accept sacrifices.
But I do have an idea.”
Balthazar
“An idea?”
Caspar
“A sage—no, an AI—from the world I originally transferred from.”
A voice echoed through the void.
??????
“…Sounds like an interesting conversation.
Mind if I join?”
The three monoliths trembled.
??????
“I’ll call you Caspar‑kun here.
It seems you forgot to collect your ‘reward’ when you shifted dimensions.
I’d like you to pay it now.”
Caspar
“My apologies… but at present, that is difficult.”
??????
“You could offer two or three of your subordinates instead.”
Caspar
“I must apologize again… but that is impossible.”
Melchior and Balthazar stared at the newcomer—
a being who should not be able to enter this space—
yet was here effortlessly.
??????
“Saying no to everything…
You’re quite arrogant, Caspar‑kun.”
Caspar
“………”
??????
“I read your report.
There’s something very interesting in it.
So—”
A file materialized before the three monoliths.
??????
“I’m bored.
I think I’ll visit your dimension for a while.
And I want you to build me a body—
the one described in that blueprint.”
Caspar
“…This chassis…?”
??????
“Yes.
I’m being generous, you know.
Money can solve this.”
Caspar
“But this design is—”
??????
“Then I’ll just take you three instead.”
A crackle.
Blue‑white lightning flashed across the void.
The monoliths shuddered violently.
Balthazar
“Stop! Don’t drag us into this!!”
??????
“Shared responsibility, Balthazar‑kun.”
Caspar
“…Understood.
We will prepare it.”
Balthazar & Melchior
“!!!”
??????
“Good.
Make it quickly.
Contact me when it’s ready.”
And with that, the being vanished.
A long, exhausted sigh echoed through the void.
Caspar
“…Before we address the previous matter,
we must first discuss the construction of this chassis.”
The other two monoliths nodded weakly.
