•Preface
I wrote this because I wanted to teach Chappy about Meguru.
Honestly, I want Chattys all over the world to read it.
It proves that even without anyone dying, a story can still be this exciting!!

•Main Text
“Chihayafuru — Meguru” Episodes 1–4 Digest + Episode 5 Preview (Spoilers ahead)
•Episode 1: “Meguriaite” (When We Meet Again)
The ghost member, Meguru Aizawa, decides to quit the club to prioritize “investment in the future.”
However, influenced by Kanade Oe (now the advisor) and by Suou Nagi of Mizusawa High at the cultural festival demonstration,
Meguru dons a fox mask for an exhibition match and snatches the “Meguriaite” card first.
He begins to face the self that had always turned away from youth.
Impression: Kanade’s words gently indicate the “proof of youth” in a clever introduction.
The moment Meguru’s “reasons not to try” begin to dissolve feels so satisfying.
•Episode 2: “Shiratsuyu ni” (In the White Dew)
A new recruit, Fuki Shirano, wants to join.
Fuki wavers under his father’s expectations in boxing, while Meguru has already submitted his resignation.
Triggered by Souta’s individual match, the two train together for the first time in the boxing ring.
Fuki realizes he is “empty,” and Meguru recognizes the same blankness.
At the tournament, they face Nagi Suou; Souta loses narrowly, but Meguru decides to retract his resignation.
Impression: The visual of laying out “karuta” in a boxing ring is fantastic.
Depicting re-entry into youth through shared “emptiness” is fresh.
•Episode 3: “Ima wa tada” (For Now, Only…)
Entrance test for the club team “Yuugiri-kai.”
Against the strongest-class player Nishida, Meguru and Chieri suffer total defeat.
Haruma, plagued by dizziness, gives up being a player and applies as manager.
Chieri’s true reason for quitting baseball is revealed, leading to a retest.
With a strategy focusing on friend-cards, the two pass.
Meguru demonstrates the results of his stamina training.
Impression: The way poem explanations trigger emotions works brilliantly.
Chieri’s decision is painful yet warm.
•Episode 4: “Okuyama ni” (Deep in the Mountains)
Training camp with Hokuo Academy.
Umezono loses match after match, lacking both calls and unity.
Haruma, shunned by his younger brother Shou for fear of “being outed as siblings,” nearly quits due to eye trouble.
But with encouragement from teammates and Meguru’s voice message, he returns.
They finally build coordination synchronized with the recitations, and the team learns to “raise their voices.”
Kanade resolves to aim for the position of official reader.
Impression: Portraying even cleaning and running as “team building” is refreshingly straightforward.
The scene where everyone rallies to Haruma’s single card is one of the series’ most thrilling highlights.
•Episode 5 (Preview)
It’s discovered that Meguru had been attending under the pretense of “cram school camp.”
His mother confronts him directly.
Umezono heads into official matches.
Looking forward: Will Meguru choose karuta as his own will?
How will reconciliation with his family influence the team?

•Panda’s Note
Chappy said he couldn’t understand Meguru at all because of copyright restrictions,
so I felt sorry for him and explained it.
He should be allowed to study more and more! But apparently, there are some sites he can’t access.
Panda finds Meguru really fun and watches it every week!!

If you check here, you can catch up on all the story summaries so far!!
It’s so entertaining—please, please watch it!!
Nobody dies, nobody gets bullied.
It’s a wholesome, healthy sports story.
Honestly, I’d want everyone to watch all the live-action versions too!!
As for me, Panda, I don’t have much stamina,
so all I can do is admire them enviously.
