Ep.1 - 2
"Your Highness, Ghunthiva! I can't believe it, this is an amazing miracle. You're revived from cardiac arrest."
The voice was not Gieder.
I turned and saw a man, who looked older than Gieder.
I assumed he must be Dr. Royvo.
Observing him, I found that he had a short crocodile-like tail.
"Your brumation seems to have started normaly. It was unfortunate the illness came on at the beginning of brumation and must have been too much for your body. But I am sure that your illness will get better. Please wait for the end of the brumation with peace of mind."
With these words, Dr. Royvo took my arm.
"The scales have been stripped off a lot. This may be due to lack of oxygen and nutrients during cardiac arrest. Shedding will occur as before, so the scales will eventually return. You will need to protect your skin with long-sleeved clothing until it heals. You should stay warm and try to get as much sun as possible during the day."
Then, the doctor went behind me. He opened my wings and examined them.
"Your wings are weakening. This is to be expected. As I told you in the pre-brumation consultation, you will not be able to transform or fly during the brumation, so please be careful."
Brumation. Shedding. Transformation. Flying.
None of these words made any sense to me.
Not noticing my confusion, he called in Gieder, and those who were waiting outside the door.
Their appearance was different from mine, and none of them had horns or wings.
"It is hastily prepared and crude, but we've got a strecher. Let us assist you to go back to your chamber."
It was Gieder who said this, still not quite overcome with emotion.
His short crocodile-like tail was undulating in an excited manner.
The small wings on his back were also opening and closing repeatedly.
Before I knew it, I was lying in the strecher and being carried out of the mortuary.
