Chapter :2| The Children of Limbo
Years of planning all for nothing!, Parallel divergence? Is this really happening?
Why did he do that? He wasn't meant to. Has the presence of the time gun changed him that much?
No time to day dream I've got to get back on track.
"Listen punk from here on out were at war. War with the fucking universe, make the wrong move and were both dead. Got that?" Trevor yelled.
"Where the fuck are we! Your a murderer get away from me!" Nate cried as he pushed Trevor away.
"Listen you dimwit, just sit down and think, as much as I regret it the professor is dead and were both here in limbo."
"What the hell is limbo?"
Trevor shoots the time gun but the portal seems distorted and fails to stay open.
He proceeds to point it at Nate.
"You murdering psychopath!" Nate screams as he points his hand towards Trevor, but he suddenly notices that the time gun is in his hand.
"Ah so there are also 2 time guns now" says Nate as he lowers his gun. "Shoot a blank at the ocean."
Nate still in a state of disarray fires the gun as he's told. Then Trevor follows suit. And a crack appears infront of them for a brief moment. "So both guns have to be shot within a certain amount of time to stabilise the portal, let's test 20 seconds first, then..."
"Shutup!! How can you act like this is just another day at the lab. I'm not gonna help a psychopath do whatever he wants. Don't you feel even a little bad you monster?"
Trevor gazes at Nate with a "thousand yard stare." And tells him "We are the enemies of time, we have no time to feel regret, the path we walk is paved with pain and sorrow, you'll understand that soon enough. My only prayer is that you don't regret the day you chose to plunge yourself into this peregrination of chaos."
"Your crazy! Get me out of here now."
"Now we're making progress. We're goinf to need to find the prerequisites for creating a portal again. Due to our parallel divergence this is gonna be a tricky one."
"Parallel divergence, what's that?"
"Where do I start? Think of time travel as a thread passing a tiny needle. Now there are 2 threads trying to pass this one needle. Put them in separately and as long as there's enough space you should be fine, but try to put them both at them in same time and you'll have some problems. For example the threads may start to unravel but in our case we're double fucked."
"Why?"
"You'll find out soon enough." Trevor said dismissively.
"Nate are you okay."
Nate spooked by the sound of a familiar voice.
"It's me the professor, don't make a fuss."
"What's going on is this some sort of nightmare, when do I wake up!" Nate mutters.
"I'm afraid this is no dream my boy, I seem to be stuck in some unimaginable place. But I seem to be able to talk to you somehow but not for long. Nate listen to me Trevor cannot be trusted, you must follow your instincts and not give into his manipulative and unscrupulous ways."
"Nate get over here I need you to fire your Time gun." Trevor says, as he fires his gun and the distorted portal opens again.
Nate points the gun towards the distorted portal and fires it.
"Shall we?" Trevor asks.
"After you." Nate responds.
Trevor walks through and Nate follows behind him.
Nate finds himself in the vortex again but this time he sees a vision of Trevor, lying on the ground bleeding.
"Moooo"
Nate sees is a cow grazing in a field.
"What the?" Nate asks.
"We have arrived at our destination thank you for traveling on Air Trevor." Trevor says.
"Did you see it too?"
"See what?"
"I mean you were bleeding and..."
"Day dreaming of my death? You must really not like me." Trevor chuckled.
"Shutup, where are we anyway."
"Only one way to find out, we explore."
Our travellers look forward and gaze at the scenery of the castle town up ahead. What adventures lie ahead?
