Investigating the Nameless Ship
『』船の探査
‘Welcome Captain.’ While deliberating whether to embark the ship or not a somewhat familiar voice beckons me and seems to call me ‘Captain’ in a welcoming voice, while the voice might just pass as an auditory hallucination as it did not answer when I asked who it was, I have come to a self-consensus that the ship’s ownership could be mine.
The ship can be considered a gold mine, although most of its capabilities are sealed if I can at least I can use it to travel and as some sort of safe-haven while on a journey, then it would be of use no matter what.
Even without full knowledge about ships, I could tell that the ship was indeed magnificent, it reminisced an old Spanish Galleon replica I once saw in a museum during one of the school’s tours. Of course, the size was incomparable.
I did not grow up near the sea so I was not quite knowledgeable about ships and should not presume to know anything about ships especially with the sheer size of this vessel, but from the looks of it, this seems to be sail worthy.
As its self-proclaimed-captain of some sort, I am inclined to explore the ship. I will not lie, I was going to enjoy the exploration... you can't blame me, right... I mean a ship... If it does not stir your adventurous spirit what does...
And so the adventure begins.
*****
The inspection started on the ship's main deck, but as expected it was empty it had a large space, but nothing was in or on it, except for the cool sea breeze and soothing scenery beyond, it was after all empty, spotless and clean.
I could see the helm of the ship at the second-floor deck so headed in its direction and tried to stir the wheel. But since I do not know about navigating ships, even if it was sail worthy, as long as I do not know navigation I was going nowhere...
*piron
As if answering my internal monologue the steering wheel popped an AR message:
《Would you like to set sail on auto-pilot?》
『YES』 『NO』
"At least I can set sail with the use of autopilot. It would be nice if I learn how to navigate on my own though, but for now, I think that I would rely on the Auto-pilot feature..." I said out loud, but since I have neither objective nor knowledge of my ship's capabilities I answered 'NO' and instead continued my inspection.
Behind me, I could see a door with the words: ‘Captains Deck’. Thankfully it was written in the familiar universal language -English on top of it. Objectively speaking it should be the first to be explored but for now, I need to know more about the ship's capabilities and so decided to check on the lower compartments first before the captain's room.
Just below the second-floor deck where the steering wheel is located are wooden stairs that would gain me access to the lower cabin.
Between the main deck and the lower cabin is the cannon room which spans the whole ship. According to the cannon window, it should be possible to have at least 20 cannons.
I can increase the number of cannons by allocating 5,000 Earth Attribute and Fire attribute Magic Cores to increase the number by 1 more, but unfortunately, I only have 15 cannonballs, even if I fire them simultaneously with just 15 cannonballs, an additional 1 cannon will be useless, so, for now, I should just leave the 2 cannons as is and made a mental note to secure more firepower by purchasing cannonballs and gunpowder at a later date.
Now I left the cannon compartment deck and headed to the lower deck. While traversing it, it looks like a long hallway of nothing... I mean literally, it had wooden walls but nothing, not a single door to be opened or explored. So I continued to move along hoping to find at least that single door.
However I get the feeling that I could walk forever but won't find anything or even get to the other side, but I persisted to tread it as I needed to know what’s inside the ship.
As I walk further for more than half an hour and still nothing was definitely on the hallways, getting tired I pounded my head and started to think that there must be a room here and a *piron was heard.
《Would you like to create a room?》
『YES』 『NO』
Ohhh!
It would seem that this hallway is allocated for room cabins, and it needs me to create rooms first before this place can be fully utilized. For now, I shouldn’t meddle with this yet since making rooms without any purpose might hamper future needs. I clicked the 『NO』 icon and continued to walk further.
While walking for what looks like an eternity.
"I wonder if there is a room that is already available.” as if a magic word was said a door became reachable at one side of the hallway I pushed it and entered the room.
As to be expected it was empty, but using what I learned just a few seconds ago, touched the door on the side and concentrated…
*piron
There it is... the oh-so-familiar *piron and…
《Would you like to remodel the Room?》
『YES』 『NO』
《Would you like to expand the room?》
『YES』 『NO』
Just like creating a room, you can also remodel the rooms, looks like my fear earlier was unfounded, even if I create rooms as long as I can remodel them, creating one or two rooms should not hamper prospects.
Let’s try remodeling it...
『YES』
《What Room would you like to create?》?
"Let us hear an Explanation!" I leaked out an excited voice.
Info: In creating a room, the power of the imagination is taken into account, the thoughts will be processed and the conversion of the imagined design will utilize monster cores.
•200 Earth Attribute MAGIC Cores
•200 Fire Attribute MAGIC Cores
•200 Water Attribute MAGIC Cores
•200 Wind Attribute MAGIC Cores
•200 Holy Attribute MAGIC Cores
•200 Unholy Attribute MAGIC Cores
•200 Light Attribute MAGIC Cores
•200 Darkness Attribute MAGIC Cores
By trying to create a smithy and imagining the design in my mind, the following attribute MAGIC CORES were the minimum requirement to create the room.
However, since I do not possess any MAGIC CORES with the required attributes, I dejectedly left the room but made an exciting mental note to make create a room when I have the MAGIC CORES and should head to the next destination at the bottom-most deck.
*****
I finally got to the staircase.
*phew...
Just so you know I was in for another long minute to get to this staircase that would lead to the main deck and the bottom-most deck.
It would seem that these hallways extend to almost eternity. That would mean that I can create countless rooms in this hallway so long as I have the required number and attribute MAGIC CORES.
The infinite passageway could hold me for infinity if you continue to walk it, to get out of these infinite hallways in this lower deck you just need to get a mental image of the staircase connecting the four-compartment decks, and voila!
Continuing with my inspection, I used the same stairs to access the bottom-most deck. When I arrived, after a short spiral to the bottom was another hallway but unlike the lower deck, you can only see a large squared space and on each wall, three doors could be seen.
The biggest door was just adjacent to the stairs, and two smaller doors of the same sizes stood opposite of the other.
While deciding which door to go for first, for some reason the largest door in front of me seems to beckon me. Without any hesitation, I opened it. Even though it is my first time traversing this ship, I feel no hostility in it. I feel that I have just become its owner and it recognizes me as one.
The room was special, if I had to surmise it must be the engine room or at least the one that gives power to the entire ship. But unlike the boiler room I am acquainted with in the previous world, well there was no boiler, and would seem that the ship will move with another source of power.
What caught my eyes the most in this room was a pedestal which for some reason feels empty. I have a feeling that something should have been in there but was now gone. This room must be the most important in this ship and should be protected at all costs.
"Mental note, increase defense of the Power Room." I arbitrarily named the room, well it is the room that gives power to the entire ship so it goes without saying that ‘Power Room’ should be an appropriate name if I say so myself.
Since there is nothing more to do inside the Power Room, I went out and closed doors leading behind and soon decided to enter the other two rooms.
Again, as a personal rule as a right-handed person, I decided to check the door to the right side... it was empty... but since it was blank then...
《Would you like to remodel the room?》
『YES』 『NO』
《Would you like to expand the room?》
『YES』 『NO』
“Yup!” the familiar remodeling question appears before me.
But another option popped up together with the familiar text. I am guessing any room can be expanded as well. Again for the lack of Magic Cores, remodeling and expansion should be impossible. So on to the next…
"Okay on to the last room." Pumping myself up. The next room got me a bit excited. I mean it looked like it was an Armory.
"Yes! Weapons..." Although I only saw three weapons, I was so excited I dashed towards them. “Finally… something I could use to protect me.”
But disappointment instantly engulfed me as I looked at the weapons in their respective compartments. I mean the three weapons in question are not much to be excited about: a rusted sword that can no longer be used, a small knife that might have still some edge but has a problem with the range... and lastly, the only thing that seemed use-worthy is a bow and beside it a quiver with 20 arrows with which I have no affinity.
“Haaaa!” another sigh left my mouth.
Before completely leaving the room, I checked the status of the three weapons, to ascertain future combat prowess.
I picked-up the [Rusted Sword] and gave it a slight swing. Nope, it just gave off a dull sound and some of the rust splattered on the wooden floor making the swordless useful by the minute, the edges were jagged making hacking at someone/something difficult. Condition: Not fit for Combat
The [short knife] gave a more slicing sound, and the edge can still cut. Condition: with the shortness of the blade of the knife and the skill I have in using it, it could not be used for combat. However, it should still be sharp enough to cut something.
The [short bow] would be the only thing that could be considered combat worthy, well that is as soon as I can get used to aiming and shooting it. Condition: Ready for combat, but training is necessary.
As an experiment, I focus my mind and...

I immediately pressed the question mark symbol to get the details.
Info: All items stored in this ‘Detachment Room’ can be accessed outside the ship. However, you cannot store items from the outside.
Info: allocated items will be forcibly returned to their place of allocation after 5 minutes of non-usage from the captain or is far away from the captain’s side reaching a 2-meter radius.
Right it would seem that I can take out items from the outside but I can’t put items in. if I have to place something here then I have to do it manually in here at the Detachment Room, It's a bit inconvenient but it has its perks.
At the moment, I can only store 15 items here, and while outside whatever new things I bring cannot be stored directly. It would seem that it is quite an inconvenience, but there is a slight advantage... it would mean that I will never lose an item as long as it is allocated here.
The plus button seems to be a button to allocate space for an item I want to be available for detachment. But with no Magic Core, I don’t think I can increase that… not that I have any items to allocate here in the first place
"Looks like this will be it for the lower and bottom deck, better head back up."
Well, this time something was inside the room, unlike the other rooms which had ‘Nothing’ on them that should be a good sign. Well, there is still one room left hopefully it has ‘Something’ in it too.
