責任を取ると島森連合
Why did they attack in the first place? I don’t think this is any annual event from the looks of the forest, when I first came here it was thick and almost untouched, meaning something like this has not happened before until now. There must have been something that changed their environment. I repeated these questions at the back of my head.
“…”
Up until now nothing could have moved them, after all they were in a perfect balance. The monsters in the east did not traverse to another territory more like they were not allowed to as I had recently seen the boss of the south protect its territory from the eastern forest. Something must have toppled that balance?
It happened just recently, and that recent happening was none other than… me. I was the new comer who had relentlessly attacked monster to gain combat experience. That must have upset the paper-thin balance between all the inhabitants of this island and eventually led to the invasion of the demi-human monsters.
“This is leaving a quite bad aftertaste.” I needed to do something about this, but what?
It’s not like I can talk to them and apologize. Just leaving was not going to help the situation either, had I left earlier before the GOBLINs or the ORCs even took notice of me it might have been good, but now that they have started their encroachment I can’t very well leave and think like it is not my problem… this is a problem that I did start, I must see through it to the end.
“But really what can I do for this situation.“
The rain continued to pour, and the demi-human’s attacked ceased so I take this might be a good opportunity to find a solution against this problem and the best way to get a solution is to find out about the problem. And so I decided to head to the deeper part of the western region.
While investigating, something happened that was ideal but did not think possible.
While traversing the deep forest, a single TEEN GORGILAZ approached me. At first I thought it would be another brawl from which I was quite accustomed to. But, the beast did not show any signs of hostilities, instead did a somewhat leading gesture. I did not know why but, it felt that way to me and so I decided to follow the TEEN GORGILAZ.
In their lair, I saw that very same Giant GORGILAZ who was looking at me from the trees when I was fleeing from the MASTER ALPHA GREYWOLF.
I assume that the beast in front of me has equal power to the MASTER ALPHA GREYWOLF, then if I am to use my assumption then this guy is the… MASTER ALPHA GORGILAZ.
‘Captain, I think this guy is testing you, be careful.’
Thanks to Grim-chan’s caution I was able to feign ignorance to his intimidating looks. Now will this guy talk? Can I communicate with a beast?
As if answering my internal question, the beast offered me a drink. It looked like some kind of fruit juice, looks alcoholic too. But if I refuse what will happen. Then again in the previous world I was already in the age of consent and should be able to drink. I’ve never drank alcoholic beverages in the previous world though. But I took the cup and slowly drank from it and immediately began to get light headed.
‘Grimoire Warning Drink Moderately’
The drink had eased my panic state plus for some reason Grim-chan’s lacked of tension somehow saved me as the MASTER ALPHA GARGILAZ laughed heartily.
After his hearty laugh, he made a serious face and just like that proceeded with the negotiation. First he gestured up the wall with hand drawn painting. There were a lot of paintings in the wall, but the two paintings of monsters caught my immediately.
“GOBLINs and ORCS” I said out loud, and for some reason the GOGILAZ alpha nodded. It looks like we are indeed able to communicate, this should be a start.
He then continued to gesture at another set of paintings on another side of the room. This time there were five paintings: an image of wolves in the left, images of two types of lizards one at the top and one at the bottom, and images of gorillas at the right and lastly a drawing of a human.
If I am to interpret it, the wolf are probably the GREYWOLVES and their leader the MASTER ALPHA GREYWOLF, the two lizards are probably the two leaders of the northern and southern regions, the gorilla is probably this guy. And the last painting depicted a human… It was probably me.
Soon after he saw that I nodded as if understanding the concept behind the drawings, he farther gestured his hands as if placing all the paintings together.
“Group together, an alliance?” He probably did not know the word alliance but the group together he should be able to understand. And soon afterwards he took his fist and smashed the two paintings previous of the two demi-humans. ‘That surprised me.’
This guy is smart, no smart is an understatement this guy is quite knowledgeable and wise. I won’t be able to ask him anything since he can’t seem to use words, it would seem that he prepared the paintings beforehand before ordering the GORGILAZ to approach me.
Another aspect that allowed me to say that he is wise is the fact that he did not gestured for only the two of us to defeat the two demi-humans but instead allying with the other kings in the forest to defeat them.
Now I don’t know if this is his intention but I think he wants the balance to go back to how it was after the defeat of the two. If the two of us defeats the two demi-humans, there is a probability that the other leaders of the other regions to see the western leader as a new threat.
But if all of them defeat the demi-humans, then they will see themselves as equal and will then create an opportunity to create a non-aggression between each other after defeating the two threats. Well this is how I interpreted it anyway.
I looked at him and he was waiting for my answer. If I disagree I wonder if he will attack me… then again I don’t see any cons in his proposal by defeating the two demi-humans. Except for the fact that I can’t see how to negotiate with the other region leaders will be conducted. I don’t think I will wake up tomorrow with the ability to speak with monsters, nope I don’t see that happening anytime soon.
But as if to put me at ease, the GORGILAZ alpha gestured pointing at him, towards me, towards the paintings with the other region leaders and then pounded at his burly muscled chest. I’m guessing that he will be the one to negotiate with the leaders and all I have to do is be with him when the negotiation starts.
“Okay I will go.” I nodded in affirmation with his proposal.
Now this will be the birth of the ‘Island-Forest Alliance’. There was a need to name it after all and I took the liberty of naming ourselves.

The night passed, I slept in lair of the GORGILAZ, if they had the intention to harm me I was done for. Thankfully, I do not think that the wise leader of the Island-Forest Alliance, Wiezer would do that kind of underhanded trick.
Now you might wonder who this Wiezer is. It is actually the MASTER ALPHA GORGILAZ but it seems too long and there were a lot of GORGILAZ here for me to use simply GORGILAZ so I named him Wiezer for my convenience. He does kind of look like a Wiezer.
This came as new information for me but it is not like I can’t remember any names. Although I have forgotten the names from my previous world, I can still remember names that I remembered here in this world. I thought of the name Wiezer (a word variation from wise) before sleeping, I was not experimenting or anything but, in the morning I was able to remember the name I have placed in him.
“So Wiezer who do we have to talk to first?” he was showing his knowledge by nodding, pointed at lizard painting and gestured to the direction of the north. I see it was probably the one who was trying to cool itself when I was running away from the Kizuari. By the way Kizuari is that GREYWOLF alpha, since he has a scar I conveniently named him that.
It was still raining, and a good one at that since, the rain had stopped the GOBLINs and the ORCs from raising fire to the forest.
The lair of that giant shelled like lizard was probably located there in the northern side of the mountain. Before getting to the foot, we were stopped by some LIZARDs, they had drawn their wooden weapons towards us, but they were unable to move, putting myself aside I was with leader of the western region, no matter how strong they think they are if they get too close to Wiezer and his intimidating looks they will be force to acknowledge his strength.
However they did not withdraw, they were ready to die as if they are stopping anyone from going any further.
At this time, the one we were supposed to meet came to greet us. It was slowly approaching us and its shell like appearance was just like the ones which these LIZARDs were riding only this guy was bigger, sturdier and this guy’s shell was definitely tough to crack. As if it was a signal to negotiate, Wiezer slowly approached the shelled lizard.
I did not understand anything of course. Were they really talking? To me they were merely staring at each other, sometimes Wiezer would glance towards me then returned his gaze to the shelled lizard.
When I was gaining combat experience in the northern area, I was only able to fight with the CRAB, FOREST CRAB, SCOPIAS, they were in the beach and was therefore ideal for combat practice as well as safe. But I assumed that the two lizards in front of me were of different types. They however have mutual relationship since both were trying to protect each other.
Finally the two leaders had finished their talks… or lack there off. Wiezer came closer and pointed towards the shelled lizard then me and bumped his fist together. Wait, this guy does he want me to fight the shelled lizard?
“Do you want me to fight this guy?” Wiezer tilted his head as if he was confused. ‘Was I wrong in my interpretations?’ Wiezer then placed his fingers on his chin and as if understanding something, he then made a gesture which shocked me.
He was making a boob sign. That would mean that the shelled lizard in front of me was female. For some reason I had a feeling that the heavily shelled lizard was blushing. ‘Don’t blush.’
My interpretation earlier was accurate, it would seem like I was going to fight his shelled lizard (female) and this one must be an arrange agreement by the two, in other words this is probably a test.
Agreeing, the LIZARDs formed a circle around us and made a gallery, some leaped to the trees and looked the other way, they must be scouting the area for any sudden attacks.

The shelled lizard growled low as if instructing me to attack first and so I did.

Grimoire-chan took the words right out from my mouth.

She sneered at me and looked in the direction towards Wiezer. Wiezer on the other hand just calmly closed his eyes. Right, I need to concentrate. I see now what the test is, I must overcome her defense. And to do that I need to focused and drew some KENKI.
I changed my sword from Metal Forged Trial one handed sword to a Metal Forged Trial katana. I readied my iai stance. I only needed to make one single strike, if I fail again, the deal will be off. I can’t afford to lose in our first place of negotiation. I concentrated KENKI at 50% and perform a skill.
“Technique of a Thousand Demons Ways – God of Dogs Single Sword: Mad Dog”
After invoking the skill I then sprinted at HALF-STEP speed at the ARMADOGU queen and unleased a perfectly coordinated three hit attack (one vertical downwards slash, one diagonal downward towards the left and lastly an instantaneous turn to make a horizontal slash), after the last attack I then created a large gap by jumping backwards.
And the effect, I made a small crack, I was shocked, at 85% and I only made a small crack. ‘tche’, I involuntarily grunted. Did I fail? But Wiezer says otherwise by clapping his hands. The female ARMADOGU also seems to be satisfied by nodding firmly. I was a bit disappointed at myself, but it can’t be help my opponent was one of the leaders of this forest island and so I sighed a relief.
“Now what…?” I said queried after regulating my breath, and Wiezer gestured to his hands toward the East. Looks like we succeeded in making this lady ARMADOGU our ally and for the time being we must go to the next destination.
Before I left I needed to apologize to the queen, although she was not a human a leaving a scar to a girl was a bad thing to do. But, when I lowered my head to apologize, she showed me a confused looked and gestured at her back where I had hit her, but the crack was nowhere to be found, true that it was small but, it was not that small to be considered invisible to the naked eye. For some reason she was smiling.
Looks like I needed to train some more before I can fight on equal grounds with the leaders. This alliance was definitely a good idea.
After succeeding in making an alliance with the Armorica (the ARMORED QUEEN ARMADOGU, and arbitrarily named after an armor, the ‘rica’ was because she was female), we now headed for the eastern side, it was not like we talked about it but we decided to stray away from meaningless fights, so we jumped from tree-to-tree heading for the eastern side.
We did not know where Kizuari’s lair, but knowing him, he should be able to pick up my scent despite the rain. Right on cue he arrived with a small group of GREYWOLVES and some other beasts in his entourage. They must have banded together to fend off the threat of the GOBLIN and ORC armies. ‘This guy is quite capable, despite his face.’
Wiezer then proceeded with the negotiation. I was wondering if this guy would agree with this alliance, I mean he has a grudge against me. But, after a few minutes, the two seem to have come to an agreement. I readied myself for a bout with the GEYWOLF alpha but, Wiezer just shook his head and gestured to the southern region.
I am just going with the flow but are we really having an alliance? I mean I was just under the impression that Armorica and this guy who has followed us for some reason while shooting killer stares at the back has joined the Island Alliance, but I could be wrong, if so I am wasting my time. Then again, I knew from my fight with Armorica that I can’t defeat them, at least not yet. So for the time being I am hoping that this alliance will go through.
We are now heading to the southern region with Kizuari in tow. Our goal should be somewhere near the base of the mountain at the southern area or at least that should be the safest bet, but as soon as we crossed the river the scaled lizard greeted us with bared fangs and it was not entirely directed towards us, instead with our tag-along, and for some reason the tag-along, Kizuari responded with the same hostility.
‘Really now… are we really having this alliance?’ I could only complain in my head. While the two are fighting with each other, Wiezer offered me something to eat and drink. ‘This guy is quite convenient, yet his lack of tension is quite unnerving.’
The battle lasted for a few minutes with one clear victor -the lizard. I saw the fight from start to finish and was quite barbaric, but it only made clear that I was still far from defeating any of the leaders.
After the fight Wiezer, gestured that I was going to duel with Kizuari, but it would seem that it will have to wait after the battle against the demi-humans… it would seem that I might start talking monster sometime soon if I have made that interpretation from his incomprehensible sign language. But for now I will leave it at that.
The two who I have interpreted to have gotten a mutual understanding, seemed to be satisfied and for now Wiezer had made an approving nod. He then, gestured for me and made another sign from two set of hands, he was making a rainbow sign in the sky and placed a stone in my hands, he repeated this and I had now fifteen stones in my hand. 15 days, that was the time needed to prepare for the battle.
I needed to gain more battle experience so I don’t become dead weight.
