Episode 2
Nice to meetcha, there~!!! I'm Tres Infinity's leader, Kinoko! I hope you'll have fun!
“Young lady.”
Detective Higurashi uttered a word.
“Yes?
“You said you are a detective?”
“Ah, yes. I am working as a private detective.”
“Didn't your parents object?”
“Actually, they did, but I really wanted to be a detective so badly and…”
“Baka na musume da.” (stupid young girl) Detective Higurashi shook his head as if he was disappointed.
“Pardon me? Was that…Japanese?”
“...You shouldn't care.”
“...Okay…?”
I watched Higurashi carefully. He had black eyes and the same hair color mixed with some white hair. He was a little shorter than me. A typical Asian man. However, he has solved many cases and helped the police a lot. He can speak five languages: English, Japanese, Chinese, Spanish, and French. Sadly, I can only speak English and Spanish.
“Sorry for keeping you waiting; these are my children.”
Suddenly, Mrs. Chandler stepped into the hall. Behind her, there were three young men and a lady with two braids.
“This is my eldest son, Benedict.”
“Nice to meet you, Detective Higurashi, Ms. Johnson.” A tall man with beautiful blond hair and blue eyes greeted us first.
“And I am the second son, Ethan Chandler. Hajime mashite.” (Nice to meet you) said a young man who looked so similar to his mother, and he bowed.
“You speak Japanese?” Detective Higurashi asked, but not surprisingly.
“Hai, boku wa nihon no daigaku de manande imasu.” Ethan answered in an unfamiliar language. That was Japanese, for sure.
“Ethan said he is learning in a Japanese college. He just came back here from Japan a week ago. Ms. Johnson.” said a blond lady with charming freckles. Her hair is braided on the sides and draped over her shoulders.
“I am Rudolph’s second daughter, Charlotte. It is nice to see you.”
“Thank you. Please call me Eve, instead of Ms. Johnson. I've come to hate my last name…”
“What happened…? Ah, Please call me Charlotte too.” Charlotte smiled at me.
“So shiny…” I closed my eyes because of Charlotte’s dazzling smile.
“I am a supermodel– “the” Amelia Chandler. Nice to meetcha.”
Grourious red-haired lady came down the stairs. She was wearing a showy black dress and red high-heels.
“That is my sister, Amelia. She is working as a model, and a little…ah, well, she has a lot of confidence?”
I thought, “Oh I see, she is an arrogant person,” but didn’t say anything.
“Nice to meet you too, lady. I am detective, ‘the’ Takashi Higurashi.” Higurashi answered Amelia.
“Huh, you both belong together,” I thought with sarcasm.
Detective Higurashi and Amelia Chandler’s first impression of me was the worst.
“Last, but not least, this is my youngest son, Liam.” Mrs. Chandler said, and a boy, still about 16 years old, appeared in front of us. His face was obscured by long bangs and he carried a PC under his arm.
“...I… am, Liam Chandler…”
After saying that, Liam went back to his siblings.
“Here are all of my children. We are the Chandler family, your hosts.” Mrs. Chandler smiled at us. That was very attractive, but I sensed a dark atmosphere from the Chandler family, something mysterious and indescribable.
